Paralympian Ryan Chalmers has reportedly covered 3,300 miles on his racing wheelchair and will end his 71-day journey from Los Angeles to New York City on June 15.

The journey has left the racing champion with callused hands, sore shoulders and around 13 flat tires, the New York Daily News reports.

However, Chalmers claimed that he was never in doubt that his ride will end at the finish line in New York in a little more than two months.

The 24-year-old paralympian who had started the journey on April 6 said that stopping has never been an option for him.

Chalmers was born with spina bifida where he cannot use his legs completely and credited a non-profit organization called Stay-Focused working with disabled children to help him realize his potentials.

Chalmers said that he aims at making life hard as he does not aim at living an easy life, hoping his journey inspires others to accomplish their goals.

The report said that Chalmers will be welcomed by Commissioner Victor Calise of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities.
