India A failed to capitalize on the early wickets they took against South Africa A in the second unofficial Test being played at Pretoria between the two sides, where South Africa A ended Day 1 at 231/6.

South Africa A were 97/6 before Wayne Parnell and Simon Harmer got involved in an excellent partnership to rescue the team.

For India, Parvez Rasool and Ishwar Pandey both took two wickets each.
