Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is currently on a two-day visit to the Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday reviewed security along the LoC in Rajouri District.
Parikar was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh and the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda.
Yesterday, Parrikar visited the Siachen Glacier, where he was received by senior army officers of the Northern Command and the General Officer Commanding of the Fire and Fury Corps.
Parrikar carried out an aerial survey of the Siachen Glacier and on reaching the Siachen Base Camp laid a floral wreath at the Siachen War memorial.
He addressed the troops and applauded their efforts for the defence of the country's frozen frontier and placing the call of duty above all.
He also visited Leh and interacted with soldiers at the Rinchen Auditorium. He was briefed on the prevailing military situation along the borders of Ladakh. He also visited Chinar Corps last evening.
