A marathon was organised in Bengaluru on Sunday to mark the International Day of Peace.
Around thousand participants of all ages and from all walks of life gathered early morning to participate in the six-kilometer marathon, which was organised by Asportz International and Raja Housing Limited.
The International Day of Peace is observed every year on September 21 across the world and the day is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace within people and all nations.
"World peace has always been a discussion. The International Peace Day is falling on 21st of September, today is 20th. Now this world peace event, which we have organised, is to promote health," said Anup Kumar, the organiser.
Kumar further said the initiative was taken to spread the message of peace and promote healthy living.
The participants also appreciated the step as they put their running shoes for a fit and healthy lifestyle.

"I am feeling very good after participating in the event. Our mentor encouraged us to participate and now I am feeling very happy as I stood second," said M.S. Khan, a runner.
The marathon was flagged off by newly-appointed mayor of Bengaluru, B.N. Manjunath Reddy.
