Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has threatened Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra with legal action unless he apologises within 24 hours for his remark that the leader had been expelled from the party and later taken back.
"Sambit Patra in his press conference today said that I was once expelled and then taken back in Congress. It is a blatant lie, no such thing happened. I give him 24 hours to apologise or else I will send a legal notice," emphasised Dikshit.
The Congress leader further said that Patra "has gone out of his senses". He, however, clarified that he intends to take legal course against Patra since he made the statement as the national spokesperson of the BJP.
"I pity Patra for the kind of lies he is spreading while working for the BJP," said Dikshit who triggered a major controversy last year when he allegedly referred to Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat as a "goon on the street".
