Injury-prone Australian fast bowler James Pattinson has inched a step closer to making a comeback to the national side, after he was included in the Australia A squad for the team's upcoming tour of India next month.
Pattinson, whose already reduced 2014-15 season was ended by a hamstring injury in March, will be replacing Pat Cummins in the one-day squad, while Sean Abbott, who has also been drafted in the squad will take Cummins' place for the two four-day games, Sport24 reported.
Cummins was rushed to England to join the Ashes squad for the ongoing series after veteran seamer Ryan Harris announced his injury forced retirement ahead of the first Test.
