Oscar winning actress Patty Duke's son Sean Astin said that his mother was 'at peace' when she took her last breath.
Just a day after Duke's demise, her son, in an interview said "it was a very powerful experience" as, in her last moments, she was at peace, reports People magazine.
"She was surrounded by her family. It was in the middle of the night and it was a race to get there," he added.
Duke died March 29, after a long struggle with sepsis that was a result of a ruptured intestine, which Astin told had left his 69-year-old mother "suffering terribly."
Following her death, Astin took to Instagram paying tribute to the actress in a heartfelt post alongside a picture showing Duke holding him as a baby.
