Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan said that the domestic structure of cricket in the country needs to be strengthened in order to find future talent for the nation's sport.

Speaking after the general body meeting, which he claimed was being held after three years so that everyone could get a chance to put forward their perspectives, Khan revealed that the new general manager for women cricket in Pakistan Shamsa Hasmi was also present in the meeting and they assured her that good things are on their way for female cricketers.

Furthermore, Khan said that bagging valuable sponsorship for regions and districts was very important for the game to grow, adding that they would soon advertise to attract sponsors for the regional and district teams, The Express Tribune reported.

Khan said that they have firms and investors lined up who want to sponsor regional and district teams and they need them at the moment, adding that the PCB can pay the regions and districts but they cannot pay them enough. He said that if they can pull in the sponsors it would be a great help.

The PCB boss also welcomed four new districts to the board's general body, saying that they have added four new districts to their general body which include Khuzdar, Lasbela, Jaffarabad and Jamshoro.

Khan claimed that overall, it was a good session and they asked everyone to move forward together in order to accomplish great things, adding that they want that their regions and districts should prosper and improve their standards of cricket.
