The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urged Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq to put his retirement plans on hold and go ahead with the next year's Test series against New Zealand and Australia.

PCB chief Shahryar Khan said Misbah's presence holds great importance as he is a senior player as well as the captain.

Misbah, who had earlier hinted that the Test series against England might be his last, said it's a very hard decision for him and added that he would consider many factors before taking retirement.

He added that he would analyze himself and see how much he could contribute for his team.

Misbah is Pakistan's most successful Test captain, with 19 wins. He made his Test debut against New Zealand in 2001 and scored 4,243 runs in the 60 appearances he made for his country.
