The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has written a letter to the ICC requesting that 22-year-old fast bowler Mohammad Amir be allowed to play in domestic cricket before his five year ban ends next year in September.
According to News24, PCB spokesman Agha Akbar said that the board expected the process to be completed by the next two months and Amir could bowl during the first-class season that runs until May 2015.
Amir, former captain Butt and Asif were all banned for spot-fixing during the Pakistan team's tour of England in 2010.
According to the ICC anti-corruption code, a banned player could be considered to compete in domestic cricket before his ban ends if he has shown sufficient remorse.
