The ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday urged the state administration to be extra vigilant and alert, as there is a forecast for more rainfall in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.
"Unfortunately, there is a forecast for more rainfall. The administration needs to be vigilant and alert. The administration and people are requested to work together," said PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar.
Meanwhile, the Center has assured all help to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to enable it to cope with the floods that have hit many parts of the state following excessive rains.
The state government has an amount of Rs.209.70 crores available under the SDRF (as on 13.02.2015). Out of this amount, it can disburse input subsidy to farmers with respect to crop loss of more than 50 percent.
Department of Agriculture and Cooperation officials are also in constant touch with their state government counterparts.
As soon as flood waters recede, Central Government officials will assess the losses.
