Leading institution in design, fashion, business, media and journalism Pearl Academy on Wednesday announced appointment of Ujjwal K. Chowdhury as Head, School of Media.
A prominent media academic, Prof. Ujjwal K Chowdhury has led some of the finest media institutes in the country. Formerly Director of Ramoji Krian Universe (RKU), strategically located within the Ramoji Film City (RFC) in Hyderabad, Prof.
Chowdhury has also been Dean at Symbiosis International University in Pune and Amity University in Mumbai. He is a former Dean of Whistling Woods International in Mumbai. Additionally, Prof. Chowdhury has been Media Advisor with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the World Health Organization (WHO), India. He is a former Ford Foundation Scholar at the University of Mumbai.
Prof. Chowdhury is recognized for introducing the concept of convergence in media education in India. He has also supported and mentored a number of amateur movies, some of which went on to bag awards at national and international film festivals.
Having made sixteen (16) documentaries while working for the World Health Organization (WHO) and The Nippon Foundation; Prof. Chowdhury has been more than active in the Green Battles (GB) seminars and conferences in the country and abroad.
With more than 25 years of academic and consulting experience spanning across the globe, including stints in Dubai, Geneva, Amsterdam, Nepal and India, Prof. Chowdhury has helped business and media enterprises and educational institutions achieve excellence in branding, communications and reputation management.
