Manchester City football team manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that the weight of expectation from his squad this season will not be a burden on them.
Reigning champions City maintained their 100 percent start to the season with a 3-1 win over Liverpool that endorsed their status as title favourites alongside Chelsea. And this is something Pellegrini's squad would be looking to extend with the visit of Stoke to the Etihad.
But Pellegrini believes that his players will thrive on the expectation surrounding them and use it to motivate them even further, as opposed to falling short as City did in their last title defence under Roberto Mancini, The Mirror reported.
Pellegrini said that that expectation does not depend on one game against Liverpool, and added that City is a strong team, same as five or six other clubs in England. But, he said that they do not have that problem with that expectation.
The City boss said that they need to win and they will try to win always.
