Students and professionals in large numbers participated in marathon race, 'Run for the Indian economy' in Bhopal on Sunday for a resurgent India and to show concern for country's economy.
The event was organised by Institute of Professional Education and Research (IPER), Bhopal.
One of the organisers of the marathon, Gurleen Singh Khalsa, said this is a gesture to show that people are aware and concerned and will not rest till economy gets its due.
"Before this I have seen marathon races over social issues. This is the first marathon over economy. In IPER, we believe that all social issues will be solved if country's economy is on track. We will be able to progress if we have money. With this message, we are here," said Khalsa.
The four kilometres long race took place between Vyapam Square to T.T. Nagar stadium on Sunday morning in Bhopal.
A participant, Tarun Rathore, enthusiastically shared his message.

"Our aim here is to bring positive aspects of our economy in notice," he said.
As India goes to polls on Monday, the youth participants in the marathon also appeared hopeful of receiving employment benefits from the future union government.
The run also sent out a message that people are ready to play a part in development and growth of the nation and to tell the government that they care about the state of the economy.
