Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that people of all faiths should live in harmony for the nation's progress, adding that the iftaar party hosted by him saw the presence of leaders from all political parties.

"Everyone should work together to take the nation forward. The nation can progress only if we all join hands and work together, be it Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs or Christians. All faiths teach us to live together," Kejriwal told mediapersons.

"The speciality of our nation is that people of all faiths live together. Whether it is Eid or Diwali, we celebrate all festivals together. Today's speciality was that both VIPs and common people celebrated iftaar together.VIPs felt good that common people were there, and even common people felt good. There was no politics today. People from BJP, TMC, JD (U) and AAP were there," he added.

The guest list of the party included Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi, Pakistan's High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, and a host of other dignitaries.

Several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were also present.
