People staged a protest against Tuesday evening's Bodo militant attack in Assam in front of Assam Bhavan in the capital on Wednesday.

The protestors demanded a review of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Accord.

Between 33 and 60 people are reported to have been killed in the unprecedented attack by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants in the Kokrajhar and Sonitpur Districts of Assam, following which indefinite curfew has been imposed in five areas of Sonitpur District.

According to reports, the state Home department has instructed the administration of all the districts to remain alert.

The world heritage site, Manas National Park, has also been closed for three days in a bid to intensify operation against militants.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh have condemned the attack.

Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju will be visiting the area of the attack this afternoon to take stock of the situation on the ground.
