PETA has urged the National Buffalo Wing Festival to ban pregnant women from participating in their upcoming wing-eating contest as they are concerned that it may affect their unborn child's penis size.
A study had earlier linked poultry consumption to smaller penises in the unborn.
PETA Associate Director of Campaigns Lindsay Rajt said that pregnant women would want to think twice before eating chicken wing, the Huffington Post reported.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday in downtown Buffalo, New York.
The Study for Future Families determined that phthalates, chemical compounds that can be found in chicken, could shorten genitals.
The study had gauged the amount of phthalates in pregnant women and measured their male offspring's sex organs between 2 months old and 3 years old.
