England's new head coach Peter Moores is reportedly keen for the country to forget about Kevin Pietersen and said that the future is more exciting than the past.

Pietersen sarcastically offered his services as England's new batting coach this week following Graham Gooch's departure after both Moores and captain Alastair Cook opted to dispense with the services of the batting coach.

Moores said that it is really important that Pietersen can have his say, but they want to put forward what is happening with the England team, how the players are portraying themselves, how they are playing and portray that as more exciting and also that the future is more exciting than the past, The Guardian reported.

Moores said that he has not gone in to depth with the Pietersen, who had been sacked by England following the terrible Ashes wipeout in Australia, situation because it has not really been on his radar as he has been busy with enough other things to do.

Pietersen and Moores reportedly fell out badly during the coach's first spell in charge, but the England's second time head coach is now focused on changing the culture of the team's set-up following a miserable winter.

Moores will start his second spell in charge at England with an ODI against Scotland next week, before the series against Sri Lanka, but the team would be without some key players in Aberdeen as Ben Stokes and Matt Prior are recovering from injuries, the report added.
