American golf ace Phil Mickelson has reportedly admitted that for the first time he feels extra pressure for trying to win this year's US Open starting at Pinehurst on Thursday.
Mickelson, who has won five majors but finished runner-up at the US Open on five occasions, said that it is his career goal to win all four majors in golf.
According to the BBC, Mickelson said that the expectations of looking forward to the US Open and how much it would mean to him, makes it a challenge.
Only five players, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, have won all four majors, the report added.
Mickelson said that he feels like the five that have done that has separated themselves from the other players throughout all time, adding that it shows that they have a complete game.
Mickelson said that if he is able to win all the four majors, he feels that he would look upon his own career differently, adding that that is the reason that winning the US Open, in addition to the fact that it is their national championship, would mean so much to him.
The American added that growing up in the US, this is a tournament that he has always felt patriotism to and would love to win it, plus with all the close calls.
