The Pakistan-India Peoples' Forum for Peace and Democracy (PIPFPD) has condemned the Karachi attack where at least 47 people were killed after terrorists entered a packed bus and opened fire.
"We condemn the way consistent attacks are taking place against common people in various places in Pakistan, whether it is mass attacks or sectarian violence or attacks against progressive thinkers. Just recently, rights activist Sabeen Mahmud was killed, and before that, Advocate Rashid Rehman, who worked consistently for propagating peoples rights was also killed. The different types of cases of attacks are only increasing without any action being taken," said a PIPFPD statement.
According to reports, there were around 60 passengers, including children, on the bus, mostly from the Ismaili community.
A pamphlet found at the spot has claimed the role of the Islamic State (IS) militants in the killings and has threatened more attacks.
