BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Bhupender Yadav told mediapersons that constitutional status to the NCBC will give power to the OBCs, who are educationally and economically backward.
He said that Prime Minister Modi told the OBC MPs to work toward empowering other backward classes on the lines of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas".
Another OBC MP Ganesh Singh, who represents Satna in Lok Sabha, said, "The decision to accord constitutional status to the NCBC is a historic step taken by the Modi government as it was being demanded since 1993."
