 "PM Modi bats for 'Selfie With Daughter' initiative")
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the people to join the 'Selfie With Daughter' initiative, saying it will give a new hope to combat the plummeting sex ratio in some parts of the country.
"In Haryana, a village Sarpanch initiated a #SelfieWithDaughter initiative. I urge all of you, share a #SelfieWithDaughter. Also share a tagline that will encourage 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'," Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the nation in the ninth edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme.
In 'Mann Ki Baat', the Prime Minister shares his thoughts with the nation. The programme aims to deliver the Prime Minister's voice to the general masses of the country since television connection is still not available everywhere, especially in the rural regions of remote locations.
The first edition of the programme was aired on October 3, 2014.
