Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the passing away of former Maharashtra chief minister AR Antulay, referring to him as among the 'tall leaders' from that state.
The official twitter account of the Prime Minister's Office shared his views.
"PM has condoled the passing away of former Maharashtra CM and Union Minister Shri AR Antulay. He extends condolences to Shri Antulay's
family," the office tweeted.
"PM recalled Shri Antulay's contribution to public life and said that he was among the tall leaders of the Congres Party from Maharahstra," it added.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his grief at the passing away of comedian Deven Verma.
"Shri Modi expressed grief on the passing away of noted actor Shri Deven Verma. PM described him as a popular actor, admired by film lovers," the PMO tweeted.

Former Maharashtra CM Antulay breathed his last on earlier in the day after battling a prolonged illness.
Antulay, 85, was the first Muslim chief minister of Maharashtra, serving his term from 1980-82.
