Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the Mahamana Superfast Express here.
The train has been named Mahamana Express after Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
The train will run between Varanasi and Delhi via Lucknow thrice a week.
The train is fully equipped with the modern facilities with dustbins and bio toilets in every coach. The train also has new renovated and refurbished AC-coaches fitted with LED television screens.
The train will cover the 800 km distance in less than 14 hours.
Prime Minister Modi also distributed electronic aid to differently-abled people here.
This is Prime Minister Modi's fifth visit to his constituency after assuming office in May, 2014.
