Prime Minister Narendra Modi today gifted his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsein Loong a reproduction of the island-nation's map dating back to 1849.

"Measuring 52in x 52in and based on a survey that was done during 1842-45, the map depicts topographical details of parts of Singapore. The map also depicts a description of various points in the vicinity of Singapore town above the level of low water spring tides," the Prime Minister tweeted.

He added that reproduction was done from the cartographic collection of the National Archives of India in New Delhi.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and Loong inked 10 key agreements on defence, civil aviation, national planning and cyber security besides others to elevate the bilateral agreements between both nations.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to meet Singapore business chiefs later today during which he is expected to pitch India's growth story.

He will also visit the Institute of Technical Education, which offers course in vocational study in Singapore.

Before wrapping up his visit, he will address the Indian Diaspora at Singapore Expo.
