Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his frequent foreign visits, saying the BJP-led NDA Government is providing benefits to industrialists but is least concerned about the farmers.
"Prime Minister Modi didn't give Rs. 15 lakhs to the common man but has given thousand of crores to his industrialist friends, I won't take their names. The big corporate men have benefited under this government but the people of Bihar have got nothing," Gandhi said while addressing a rally here.
He further criticised Prime Minister Modi for backtracking on his promises.
"He is on Facebook, Twitter, but doesn't meet the farmers. He told that he would raise the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for the farmers. Today, the farmers are committing suicide all over the country and he pays no heed to it," Gandhi said.
"When Modi ji is goes abroad, he changes clothes 16 times. Have you ever seen Nitish Kumar in suit?" he added while showering praise on the the grand alliance's chief ministerial candidate Nitish Kumar.
The Congress vice-president urged the people of Bihar to vote for the grand alliance, saying Nitish has shown the path of development and given respect to the people of the state.
Elections in Bihar will be held in five phases beginning from October 12.
