Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised cricketer Irfan Pathan for his contribution towards 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan'.
"Kudos @IrfanPathan! Yours has been an inspiring effort towards realising the dream of a Swachh Bharat. #MyCleanIndia," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel also lauded the cricketer.
"Appreciable efforts by @IrfanPathan! Support to Swachh Bharat Mission by youth icons like him will definitely strengthen the movement," she tweeted.
Pathan, who posted pictures of his cleanliness drive in Baroda, said that the local school kids were excited to participate.
"Cleaning up my hometown BARODA. Local school kids were very excited to participate #swatchhbharat," he tweeted.

The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' was launched nationwide on October 2 to focus on sanitation, hygiene and waste management. It encourages people to sweep, remove garbage, debris and unauthorized encroachments from roads, markets and residential places.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' aims at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
