Appreciating ace tennis player Sania Mirza's participation in the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that her efforts would lead to more awareness on the issue.
"A commendable effort by @MirzaSania! Her efforts towards a Swachh Bharat will go a long way in spreading awareness on the issue," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
Earlier today, Mirza participated in the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' in Hyderabad.
"To keep this movement going, I would like to nominate Shahrukh Khan, PV Sindhu, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhinav Bindra and Sajid Khan," she said.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' was launched by Prime Minster Narendra Modi on the 145th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
The campaign that has been launched nationwide on October 2 focuses on sanitation, hygiene and waste management.

It includes sweeping, removal of garbage, debris and unauthorized encroachments from roads, markets and residential places.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' aims at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
