PM Modi leaves for Kuala Lumpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Kuala Lumpur late on Friday evening to attend 10th ASEAN-India Summit and 13th East Asia Summit, besides holding bilateral meetings with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak.

During his four day two-nation trip, the Prime minister will also visit Singapore during which a number of important agreements are likely to be signed.

Prime Minister Modi has said that his visits to both countries are focused to make the economic ties stronger and also to strengthen the security cooperation.

The Prime Minister will address the East Asia Summit on Sunday.

He said that the ASEAN-India and East Asia Summits are being held in Malyasia at a critical juncture and together the nations will discuss the pressing security issues.

Prime Minister Modi stressed on the need for closer economic cooperation and said that India's partnership with ASEAN nations has gathered immense momentum over the years and India want to further scale up the trade and economic ties.

Prime Minister will also be addressing the Indian diaspora both in Malaysia and Singapore.
