Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and political scientist.Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 48th death anniversary.

In his message, Prime Minister Modi said, "The life of Pandit Deendayal was devoted to serving the nation and the poor."

He said the government remains committed to his idea of Antyodaya or serving the last person in society.
