Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday presented a reproduction of an 1841 map of a stretch of the River Salween and a sculpture of Bodhi tree to President of Myanmar U Htin Kyaw.
Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter expressing his happiness saying, "Presented Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw a reproduction of a 1841 map of a stretch of the River Salween."
Prime Minister tweeted the second time stating, "Also presented President Htin Kyaw a sculpture of Bodhi tree."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi received a ceremonial reception at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw, as he arrived on a two-day visit to Myanmar. He later inspected guard of honour.
Prime Minister Modi will also pay a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar's Yangon. He had visited Myanmar earlier in 2014 for the ASEAN-India Summit, but this is his first bilateral visit.
Before heading for Myanmar, Prime Minister Modi visited China to attend the 9th BRICS Summit.
