PM Modi, Prez Putin to hold bilateral talks in New Delhi

Russia President Vladimir Putin, who will visit New Delhi on a two-day trip starting tomorrow, will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tour. The two leaders are also expected to sign agreements between India and Russia.

President Putin, will arrive in the national capital on Wednesday at Palam Airport, shall meet with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House at 11.30 am, before holding delegation-level talks at the same venue at 2pm. The two leaders are then scheduled to sign agreements between the two nations and release a joint statement at 2.45 pm.

President Putin will also interact with the CEOs of Indian companies at 3.15 pm, following which; he will jointly inaugurate the World Diamond Conference at Vigyan Bhavan at 4 pm.

In the evening, President Putin will call on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan before departing at 9.30 pm.

This will the third interaction between Prime Minister Modi and President Putin, after the two leaders met at the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) convention in July, before meeting at G-20 Summit in Brisbane last month.

Relations with Russia are a key pillar of India's foreign policy and Moscow has been a longstanding time-tested partner of New Delhi. India-Russia ties have an enhanced level of cooperation in almost all areas of the bilateral relationship including political, security, trade and economy, defence, science and technology and culture.
