PM Modi promises developed, world class Delhi if BJP comes to power

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday assured a developed and world class Delhi which everyone will be proud of if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forms the government in the national capital.

"Continued campaign in Delhi. Spoke at a large rally in Dwarka. BJP assures a developed and world class Delhi everyone will be proud of. Apart from a stable Govt, Delhi needs a responsible Govt. People are tired of false promises, lies and Andolans that are not aimed at solutions. From Jan Dhan to giving homes to the poor, highlighted our efforts to bring a positive difference in people's lives," tweeted Prime Minister Modi.

Speaking at an election rally in Dwarka earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi spoke about need of a stable and responsible government in Delhi.

Referring to the BJP's efforts on solving the water issue, he said, "Congress government in Haryana and Delhi played their people against each other. Thiswas their culture. BJP moved towards solving issues."

Prime Minister Modi said that as soon as BJP government came to power at Centre and in Haryana, all problems of water shortage were addressed and resolved.

He said that every other party in Delhi is in a mood of competition of what the biggest lie to tell the people is going to be.

"On one side there are false promises and lies. I don't think there have ever been so much lies in polls as there is this time," he said.

Prime Minister Modi noted that Delhi needs a responsible government.

"To be in government is a serious responsibility. It is about understanding the pains of the common man. Running away does not help." he said.

BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, party MP Parvesh Verma and several other top leaders were present.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5.
