PM Modi reaches Ahmedabad ahead of Xi Jinping's visit to the city

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ahmedabad today to receive Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday at the start of his three-day trip to India.

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel felicitated Prime Minister Modi during a function, where he addressed BJP workers.

BJP chief Amit Shah was also present at the function accompanying Prime Minister Modi.

Earlier today, in a conversation with Chinese journalists based in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said that India and China are bound by history, connected by culture, and inspired by rich traditions.

"Together they can create a bright future for the entire mankind," he added.

Summarizing the possibilities of India-China bilateral ties and moving ahead as "Inch (India and China) towards Miles (Millennium of Exceptional Synergy)", Prime Minister Modi said, "Every inch we cover can rewrite history of humanity and every mile we cross will go a long way in making this planet a better place.
