Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's gesture to offer all possible assistance to Pakistan for carrying out the relief operations in flood-ravaged Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), saying this reflected his humanity.
"The announcement which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made to help the flood victims of Kashmir shows his humanity. It is also a lesson and a message that politics cannot be done on such things. His actions are praiseworthy," Naqvi told ANI here.
Congress leader Rashid Alvi, however, attempted to divert the attention from this issue and said that the Prime Minister's Cabinet colleagues are causing a rift in the nation.
"If there is any problem which emerges in any part of the world then India always remains ready to give support but importance should also be given to the fact that the Prime Minister's own ministers are causing a rift in the nation and creating communal tensions," said Alvi.
Janata Dal (United) leader Ali Anwar on his part said the special announcement made by the Prime Minister for flood relief and rehabilitation in Jammu and Kashmir was his responsibility.
"This is the Prime Minister's responsibility and it's a part of the country. Tragedy has happened there and help has to be given to them. This has never happened before in Jammu and Kashmir," said Anwar.
"But one thing has to be seen that the way the weather is changing, it shows that we are playing with nature," he added.
