Promising that the Centre would work along with the state government to ensure development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the people of Jharkhand do not want a coalition government as it does no good.
"I have come here to promise you that along with the state government, the government at the Centre will also work for you. After 30 years we have a strong and stable government, Jharkhand has played an important role in it," Prime Minister Modi said at an election rally here.
"This is the land of the brave Birsa Munda. You have saved the nation. Now, you have to save Jharkhand. Now, Jharkhand does not want coalition government," he added.
The Prime Minister, who has been extensively campaigning in the poll-bound state, also stated that Jharkhand was no ordinary state and it can become the pride of India's economic development.
Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha, who is the first-time Member of Parliament, and his father former Union Finance and External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha were also present during the rally.
The third phase of the five-phased assembly elections in Jharkhand is to be held on December 9, with the results of the polling scheduled to be declared on December 23.
