Prime Minister Narendra Modi skipped President Pranab Mukherjee Iftar party for the second time yesterday, due to his meeting with the chief ministers of the Northeast states.

On Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sudhanshu Trivedi had said that the former is preoccupied with important programs, and therefore, would not be able to attend the Rashtrapati Bhavan event.

"The Prime Minister is preoccupied with important programs. He has meeting with the Chief Ministers of North East states," Trivedi said.
