PM Modi thanks Fiji for helping in India's Mars Mission

Expressing confidence that his visit to the island nation will mark the start of a new era in the relations between India and Fiji, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday thanked Suva for extending help in his country's Mars Mission.

"I am confident that this visit, especially my meeting with Prime Minister Bainimarama, will mark the start of a new era India-Fiji relations. I want to offer to convey a special word of gratitude from the people of India for hosting Indian scientists for tracking India's Mars Mission earlier this year. Together we made history," Prime Minister Modi said here at a joint press conference with his Fijian counterpart, Frank Bainimarama.

He stated that in addition, India and Fiji could share experience and expertise in disaster management and response.

Prime Minister Modi also thanked Fiji for providing a great platform for the first ever interaction between India and Pacific Islands.
