PM Modi thanks people of Haryana, Maharashtra for BJP's victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday thanked the people of Haryana and Maharashtra for enabling the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to emerge victorious in both states, calling the results to be 'historic'.

Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to express his delight at the win, stating that victory in both states was due to the efforts of the party workers.

"Historic results! A matter of immense happiness and pride for BJP. I salute our Karyakartas for their tireless efforts," he tweeted.

Hailing the first majority win in Haryana for the BJP, Prime Minister Modi said that the state would now soar to unprecedented heights.

"Thanks to the people of Haryana for giving us the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and to take Haryana's development journey to new heights," he tweeted.

Prime Minister Modi also stated that he was committed to the creation of a Maharashtra that the world is proud of.

"My gratitude to the people of Maharashtra. We are committed to Maharashtra's progress and creating a Maharashtra the world will be proud of," he tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the BJP won in 47 of the 90 assembly seats in Haryana, thus achieving majority in the state for the first time.
