Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday thanked Switzerland for its continuous support for India's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), in a joint statement with President of the Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard.
"India will get help from the NSG membership in fulfilling India's increasing clean energy requirements," he said.
Prime Minister Modi emphasised on the climate change and said it is a big challenge, being faced by all the countries.
He further said that the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is an important base of the economic relations between the two countries and India, specially, welcomes Swiss investors.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his happiness on Switzerland recognising 'Ayurveda' and showing interest for more cooperation in this field.
Both countries signed two agreements on technical cooperation in railways, ahead of the joint statement.

Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were also signed, one for technical cooperation in railways and the other between India's Konkan Railway and Swiss University ETH Zurich.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi also thanked Switzerland for its support to Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) membership.
Before the joint statement both countries held delegation level talks at India-Swiss Business Engagement at the Hyderabad House.
Earlier, she met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
Leuthard is on her three-day visit to strengthen bilateral, global and regional issues of mutual interest.
In 2018, Switzerland and India will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Swiss-Indian Treaty of Friendship signed on August 14, 1948.
This was the first of such treaties signed by independent India and an important milestone in the Indo-Swiss relations.
