PM Oli pays tribute Kathmandu earthquake victims

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday paid tribute to the earthquake victims in Kathmandu city, a day ahead of the first anniversary of massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake that killed over thousands of people and displaced many across the country.

Visiting the earthquake-devastated Dharahara site in the Capital, Oli paid homage to the departed soul amid a programme and wished for eternal peace of the departed souls, reports the Himalayan Times.

He also observed a minute silence and offered floral tribute in memory of the departed souls killed on April 25, last year.

Deputy Prime Ministers, Home Minister, Ministers, government officials along with tourism entrepreneurs also graced the occasion.

As many as 9,000 people were killed in 7.8-magnitude earthquake that took place at 11.56 am last year and a number of aftershocks.

The government has organised a condolence meet to wish for the peace of all departed souls in commemoration of the destructive natural disaster.
