Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's continued silence on violence against Dalits is planned.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi follows an ideology. This ideology is violent and has led to atrocities of Dalits. His silence in this matter is a well thought out plan. There are two ideologies at work in this country, one is that of the Sangh which is about violence and hatred and another is Gandhi's which is about love, harmony and no-violence," Singh told ANI.

Singh's comments comes in the wake of two incidents involving Dalits.

On Thursday, a 15-year-old Dalit boy's body was found hanging near his house in Gohana's Govindpura area in Haryana. The boy's family claimed he was charged with stealing a pigeon, and then was brutally beaten up while in police custody. The Haryana Government has ordered an SIT probe of the incident.

On October 20, two children succumbed to burn injuries after a house was set on fire allegedly by members of the Rajput community in Ballabhgarh, Haryana. The deceased, Vaibhav (2 years) and Divya (10 months), died before reaching Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Their mother Rekha (22) was admitted to the ICU with serious burns, while her husband, Jitender (26), a medical attendant at a hospital, escaped with minor burns on his hands.
