Jharkhand Police arrested four cadres of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) who were acting as messengers of Maoists in Gumla district.
Police had been conducting several search operations in various districts in order to catch hold of the Maoists who approach the local villagers and offer them some money.
Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Inspector of Police of Gumla district said that the sympathisers used to pass on the information of police movement to the Maoist commander Sanjay Tiger.
"Police raided and arrested four people who used to pass regular information on the phone about the police to Sanjay tiger. We have also seized four mobile phones from them. While enquiring, those people accepted the crime and said they will not repeat the crime again. This is one of the achievements during the continuous search for those people who help the Maoists," he added.
Police also seized four mobile phones and important documents from the sympathisers.
