Police in West Bengal arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals travelling in a private bus near the Indo-Bangla border.
The south-Dinajpur police on Saturday took into custody 10 Bangladeshis travelling in a private bus under Kushmandi police station near the border in West Bengal.
Acting on a tip off, the sub divisional police officers tracked the bus which was on its way to Balurghat and found 10 Bangladeshis travelling without proper documents.
The arrested nationals belong to Mirjapur and Bogra district of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, within three months south Dinajpur police and paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) jointly arrested 112 Bangladeshi infiltrators along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
India shares 4096km of border with Bangladesh of which West Bengal has the most of 2216km.
The north-Bengal Frontier has a border of 1070km with the country and has a number of porous areas where 600 km are already covered with fence through which mostly cattle crosses over illegally to Bangladesh from various parts of northern and northeastern India.
