The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to bust a militant module by arresting its two members.

Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayoom, said the module was set up by Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-taiba (LeT) and used to provide logistics to the extremists in Sopore district.

"A Lashkar module was active there. Lashkar commanders Umar Khatoo and Saifulllah had set up a network, which used to supply logistic to them, including SIM cards and weaponry. This module was active for a long time. We have bust the module and arrested them with army's assistance. We think it is a big setback for the militants," said Qayoom.

Meanwhile in a joint operation on Sunday, the Kupwara police along with the army busted a hideout in a forest area of Lolab and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.
