Hours after a helicopter belonging to the owner of Leicester City football club, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, crashed outside the King Power Stadium, the team has stated that they are assisting the police in the matter and a detailed statement will be issued shortly.
Taking to their official Twitter handle, the club wrote, "We are assisting Leicestershire Police and the emergency services in dealing with a major incident at King Power Stadium. The Club will issue a more detailed statement once further information has been established."
Expressing grief over the incident, the Mayor of Leicester City took to Twitter and offered condolences to the club owners.
"Dreadful news from @LCFC #KingPower Thoughts and prayers with all - particularly owners who've done so much for Club and our City #Leicester," he tweeted.
The mishap took place after Leicester City's match against Ham United in their Premier League Clash, which ended in a draw.
