Two airliners at Atlanta's airport were searched by the police after they received "credible" bomb threats, US officials said.
Airport spokesman Reese McCranie said that the threats were received against Delta and Southwest flights coming from Portland and Milwaukee respectively. He said both aircrafts had landed safely and had been evacuated, reported the BBC.
Two U.S. fighter jets escorted the planes into the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after bomb threats were received. However, airport officials said in a tweet that no bomb was found on the aircraft and the airport operations had resumed.
The bomb threats were made online on Twitter.
The report said that the flight was carrying 86 passengers and that they were re-screened.
This was not the first airport bomb scare in the U.S. this week. New York's JFK airport also received a threat on Monday, involving at least one aircraft. However, no bomb was found.
