Polish envoy tells students they are India's future

Poland's Ambassador to India, Mr. Tomasz Lukaszuk, urged students of a school here that they should see themselves as India's strength, and understand that the future of their country, its progress, greater acceptance and recognition in the international comity of nations, was in their hands.

Invited to the annual day and prize distribution ceremony of the Shanti Gyan International Senior Secondary School, Goyla, Dwarka, at the Airforce Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi, over the weekend as the Guest of Honour, Ambassador Lukaszuk lauded the efforts of the school faculty and management for their commendable efforts in encouraging their students to think big and positively about how to use education and other curricular activities for their own as well as the nation's benefit.

India as a nation, he said, was passing through a new phase, which would help the students to realise their full potential.

Parvesh Sahib Singh, Member of Parliament, who was the Chief Guest at the function, also praised the school management and students for their achievements in the field of education and allied activity. He also appreciated the performances of the students in the cultural programme.

The programme included students performing the Ganesh Vandana in the form of song and dance, followed by a heart-touching performance by the Junior section of the school, depicting the strong bond of motherly and sister love.

Students of the extended branch of Shanti Gyan International School - Montfort Academy, at Dhanbad in Jharkhand showed different forms of preachings of Lord Krishna through a dance performance "Govind Bolo-Gopal Bolo".

Presenting the annual report of the school, its principal, Dr. Rishi Khurana, informed parents about the efforts of the staff members and the students who brought laurels to school in the various fields.

He also informed that in the last three years, the school had been declared "The Best Public School" in the category of cultural and sports activities in Zone -22, by the Directorate of Education Delhi. He also informed that the school has also been nominated for the Best Boarding School in Delhi/NCR for the third time.

This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony, where distinguished guests gave away prizes to meritorious students.

The other distinguished guests were Padamshree Mahabali Satpalji, Additional Director of Education, MLAs Rajesh Gahlot and Subhash Sachdeva.

Principal Dr. Rishi Khurana delivered the vote of thanks. A school memento was presented to the distinguished guests by the school's directors Tilak Raj Khurana and Baldev Khurana.
