Commenting on the recent accusations made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Vinod Kumar Binny about his own party, Former IPS officer turned social activist Kiran Bedi on Thursday said political leaders need to stop misleading people by making tall promises and be more reasonable about them.

"Today, the rebellion put forth by AAP leader Vinod Kumar Binny, and the emerging pressure, clearly indicates one thing, that political leaders must make reasonable promises," said Bedi.

"They should also provide a time frame, and explain it to the public why they need a certain amount of time to fulfill a certain promise. People must start understanding the procedure of decision making," she said.

She further said that AAP leaders needed to understand the functioning of the administration and then take mature decisions.

"They need to understand how the administration works, and the processes needed in decision making, and then take mature and wise decisions. It is very important for the political representatives to not make tall promises, and mislead people when going for elections," said Bedi.

"They must explain people how governance functions. People are looking for the cost and price of every vote. If you give tall promises, and don't fulfill them, people would not forget," she added.

Bedi's reaction came after a disgruntled Binny had described Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal as an autocrat, and all those luminaries from various sections of society joining the party as opportunists.

The 39-year-old has accused his party for "straying" from AAP's core principles. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has dismissed it saying he was sulking for not getting the chance to contest.

Addressing a news conference here a day after he was refused a ticket to contest this year's general elections by the AAP leadership, Binny also called former IBN7 managing editor Ashutosh an opportunist.
