Leaders across the political spectrum on Thursday congratulated the Indian cricket team for its victory against Bangladesh in the quarter-final of the ongoing World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah singled out skipper MS Dhoni and opening batsman Rohit Sharma for praise in his congratulatory message.
"Congratulations Team India, @msdhoni and @ImRo45 for beating Bangladesh comprehensively and reaching WC Semi Finals. #INDvsBAN," he tweeted.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore urged the team to keep winning.
"#IndvsBan Congratulations Team India. Keep Playing Well and Keep Winning.#CWC15," he tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started a countdown to the final.
"Two more matches to win. Congratulations India. Well played Bangladesh," she posted.

Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah quoted President Mukherjee while adding a message of his own.

Earlier in the day, India beat Bangladesh by 109 runs at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground, with Rohit Sharma scoring a blistering 137 to prop the Men in Blue to a competitive total of 302-6, before Umesh Yadav, with bowling figures of 4-31, was instrumental in restricting the Royal Bengal Tiger to a mere 193 all out.
